Very good practice, thank you! I did it (the simple shift) using a pen 8 inches distant from the eyes, and the far object was 30 feet distant - aligned to the pen in between the eyes. It feels good to shift on the far object and then shift to the near object, however, when I bring the focus to the pen I see it unclear as if I were seeing the pen's aura - a ghostly image surrounding the pen. It's quite neat, actually, (I wonder if I was seeing the pen's energy! ahaha) - nonetheless, I think this is a sign of an unclear vision. So, should i just keep shifting on the blurry aura of the pen, pretending it's not there, or should I bring the pen a little farther until the aura disappears and I see the pen sharply?
